July 16, 2015 – Staining of “Faux” Beams

For this project, I was called out to Stuart Island, BC*. It was an hour boat ride from Campbell River.

This was a new construction golf pro-shop by Seaspan which entailed staining of sliding Fir doors and “Faux” beams. By Faux, I mean that they are made out of wood but they are wrapped with Fir (not solid Fir).

We had to work 12 hour days because we had a deadline as this was a present to the owner for his 80th birthday.

Working with scaffolding was required as the ceiling beams were upwards of 18 feet high (a Michelangelo moment). Note: When working at this height, only carry as much as you want to clean up.
