July 27, 2015 – 10 years later…

For this project we were staining a cedar fence with a semi-transparent stain. We typically do this by hand for good penetration and adhesion.

What makes this job particularly interesting is that this is a long time customer where 10 years ago we applied an elastomeric coating to the “dated” Dashrock. I’ve included an example of similar Dashrock so you can note the change from the monochromatic greys of glass and rock to a uniform bright Dandelion’ish hue.

It was challenging, as we were trying to scratch and scrape the Dashrock off to improve adhesion while our client, Lisa, was conducting business inside (Bella Donna Esthetics). We learned that our technique sounded similar to nails on a chalkboard to the individuals inside so, needless to say, we started working around her clientele.

I am pleased that it has held up so well for the last 10 years.
